What’s it all about?

Have you been crocheting blankets like crazy and want to get going on your first wearable piece? Join us and learn how to crochet a basic jumper from the top down! We’ll learn a little bit about how different jumper pattern are read, the importance of gauge and we’ll get going on our first sweater.

What will we cover?

In this class, we’ll learn:

  • How to read patterns and get started on a jumper
  • Gauges and why they are important
  • DC2tog, FpDC and BpDC stitches
  • How to continue and finish at home
  • Pattern inspiration

You should already know how to do a slip stitch, single and double crochet. We’ll go through double crochet again but very briefly.

What will you need?

For this class, you’ll need a 9mm hook and 6-7 skeins of a chunky or bulky yarn – 14ply (I used in the example Lion Super Bulky acrylic but you can get wool or others). You only need to have one skein in the class.

Who will be teaching?

Maria Yebra has crafted many weird and wonderful things since getting hooked on crochet, and she shows no signs of stopping! In addition to crochet and crafting, she also has a passion for cooking and baking, light painting, Spanish shoes and running Laneway Learning.
