What’s it all about?
We all know what to do with good wine… drink it!
But what about the fruity, weird wine of dubious provenance your aunty gifted you? Let’s discover a myriad of options to spruce it up a little! From mulled wine recipes, to the Spanish traditional sangria, to fruit punches and cocktails. Whether you like it hot or cold there is bound to be an option for you.
What will we cover?
In the class we will learn:
- A little bit about the origins of mulled wine and sangria (newsflash the first recipes are super old!)
- Best ingredients and combinations
- Mulled wine recipes from around the world (German glühwein, French vin chaud, Nordic glogg…), which we’ll demonstrate and taste
- The one and only authentic Spanish sangria recipe and tasting
Who will be teaching?
Maria Yebra is a Spanish expat who has been living in Melbourne for the past 7 years. She loves cooking and baking (she has a cupcake making blog cupcaketeer.com) but above all else she enjoys eating the food she creates!
In Spain, Maria worked as a kitchen assistant for a catering company, renowned for their reinvention of tapas. She later on applied these concepts to her family’s business: a rural cottage/hotel catering for out of the box weddings and events. Now she works in marketing and communications but always enjoys a good cooking session.
