What’s it all about?
“Am I doing enough for them?” This is a question we often ask ourselves regarding enhancing the quality of life of our senior “fur babies”. Learn from a Veterinary Nurse how to make their retirement years more rewarding, comfortable and enjoyable for you to spend together.
What will we cover?
This class will be a mix of a lecture with show-and-tell. We will be covering a few broad topics including:
- When does a pet get “old” and signs of aging
- Environmental enrichment
- Nutrition & feeding techniques
- Home modifications
- Exercise intolerance and regimes
- Grooming & handling
- Common signs of disease to look out for
- Quality of life scale
Who will be teaching?
Pamela is an energetic Veterinary Nurse with 5 years of experience working in inner Melbourne clinics. Her love for animals started at a young age volunteering at dog shelters in her home country Ecuador. Her passion for geriatrics and their special needs grew from caring for her diabetic 17 year old cat Delphi.
