What’s it all about?
Spanish is spoken by an estimated 1,050 million people in the world, including 470 million native speakers! That makes it the second most widely spoken language.
So, whether you are planning on going to a Spanish speaking country (and you’re very likely to do so at some point in your life because Spanish is officially spoken in 21 different countries around the globe!), or just want to speak to people in Melbourne, Spanish is a very useful language to know.
Being able to introduce yourself in Spanish will guarantee you a good start, because we all like it when people make an effort to speak our own language.
What will we cover?
During the class we will learn the following: how to meet and greet, introduce ourselves, and give and ask other people about our/their basic information.
We’ll also learn some interesting facts about Spanish culture, food and history. By the end of the workshop you will have a broad idea of how the language works, which will allow you to continue learning it or at least help you to be more polite on your next adventure!
Who will be teaching?
Álvaro was born and raised in Málaga, Spain. He received his BA in English Language and Literature, inspired by his interest in learning other languages. He is passionate about cultural exchange, which motivated him to return to school for his MA in Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Malaga. He found this degree to be the most enriching educational experience he has had, since it trained him how to teach it to anyone.
