Sewing is a really nifty skill. From small clothing repairs and alterations, to bold accessories and costumes!

Come and learn some beginner sewing stitches and techniques and put your new found skills to use sewing a felt beret or some felt badges ( we are doing boob beret and pronoun badges for example). You can also take the pattern home to reproduce it again for more practice.

All materials provided! Just come and have some fun.

This event will be half social chats with a bunch of like
minded queer people and half fun, educational and interactive workshop.

All workshops are taught by queers, for queers.

What we will cover?

In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn some stitches and techniques to sew a beret!

Together we will explore:
• Sewing basics – taking measurements, following a pattern, basic stitches
• Working with felt – a soft yet durable material
• Design, decoration and ornamentation – personalising your beret or badges

Who will be teaching?

Raize (He/They) is the beloved host of Queer Social
at Laneway Learning, and as well as being a fabulous facilitator,
Raize enjoys a multitude of crafts and teaching! Raize always has a
project on the go, and is continually expanding their crafty horizons.

He is also a lover of food, especially sweets & cocktails and his favourite colour is purple.
